"Originally from Chicago;
B.A. from Luther College, Decorah, IA, M.A. and Ph.D. in English from U. of Colorado,
Boulder. I
live and die (mostly, die) with the
Chicago
sports teams, especially the Cubs, unfortunately. I play piano and (a
little) guitar, and have interests in all kinds of music from pop and folk
to classical and jazz. I used to be very keen on cross-country skiing; now
I'm keen on walking."
Some of Dr.
Preussner's
favorite authors are Shakespeare, Ben Jonson, Jane Smiley, and Jonathan Franzen, especially "The Corrections."
A favorite quotation?
"I was so much older
then,
I'm younger than that now."
-Bob Dylan, "My Back Pages"
